God Promises Moms These Wonderful Things
(Inside: God promises moms these beautiful, wonderful things. He doesn’t promise that everything will go smoothly. He promises more…)
God doesn’t promise that our mom-journeys will be smooth
He doesn’t promise that our teens are always going to “like us.” Yes, they love us, need us, but there might be seasons when summiting K2 might feel easier than the relationship.
He doesn’t promise that our kid’s friendships will be cake. Interacting with peers can be good then fine then excruciatingly hard and everything sandwiched between.
He doesn’t promise that our learners will find graphing parabolas, diagramming sentences, and school curriculum awesome. They just might not.
He doesn’t promise that outside-our-home people and situations will be the best influence on our kids.
Or try super hard.
Or care in the way we want them to.
He doesn’t promise that as moms hang through this roller coaster ride, we will say the perfect thing, do exactly what’s needed to meet our kids’ needs, and, through it all, keep our own swirling parenting emotions in check.
Nope.
He just doesn’t.

But instead, God promises moms…
He LOVES us. With unfathomable width and depth and abundance, dance over you with singing, agape love.
He’s FOR us. Working in our lives, opening and closing doors, providing people, unearthing resources, showering wisdom, and revealing direction for us.
He WALKS with us. Never sleep, never take a break, behind, before, and next to us.
That is what he promises.
Our parenting paths are not going to be flawless; they might even be the opposite of that. But, our God – our loving, wise, kind, and generous God – will be with us. Every single step of the way.
